DUSSEHRA FESTIVAL
Dussehra, also known as Vijaydashmi is a Hindu festival celebrated across India,as well as in the various parts of Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Srilanka. Dussehra word is basically derived from the sanskrit- Dasha-hara, which means Dashanan's defeat(Ravana's defeat).
Dussehra is the apex of navratris in India and it is celebrated withe great enthusiasm across the country.Navratri is the nine days festival celebrated prior
to Vijaydashmi, its nineth day is also celebrated as Ram Navami. On this day Rama(7th avatar of LordVishnu) killed Ravana who prehended Ramas wife, Sita to his kindom , Lanka. This story of Rama, his younger brother Lakshmana and Sita is recorded in the Hindu epic, Ramayana.

In North India
Ramlila is the foundation of
the festival of Dusshera in northern India, where the scenes from Rama's life
are delineated, particularly Bharat Milap, the gathering of Rama with his

arrival of Rama, Lakshmana and Sita to Ayodhya, their kingdom following
